Your post-election regret insurance plan

Yes, this is another election email. But I wouldn't add to the clutter if this weren't really important.

Lorelei,

Let me guess: you definitely already know Election Day is on Tuesday, because your inbox is overflowing with emails about it. I get it. And yes, this is another election email. But I wouldn't add to the clutter if this weren't really important.

Because here's the thing: this weekend is The Last Weekend. Maybe you've been thinking about volunteering, but (understandably) have been too busy to make time to talk to voters. Maybe you've been watching headlines about the too-close-to-call odds for next Tuesday with growing concern.

Whatever you're thinking, this is your last chance to make sure that — whatever happens — you don't wake up Wednesday morning wishing you'd done more to make a difference.

Can you spend even one hour this weekend talking to voters in the flippable district closest to Kent? Find a shift that works for you here and sign up. It's now or never.

Earlier this fall, the world's foremost body of climate science experts released a terrifying report with a clear message: if we want to avert the worst impacts of the climate crisis, world leaders need to take bold action within the next decade. And I'll be blunt: as long as Republicans are still in charge of both houses of Congress, we won't see that kind of ambitious federal climate action any time soon.

Meanwhile, Trump and his enablers in Congress are ramping up their attacks on immigrants, queer folks, people of color, women, and too many more of us.

The news has been bleak — but here's what's giving me hope: if enough of us take action, we can take our democracy back, and elect leaders who will listen to our demands for a safe climate and justice for all of us.

But we need to put in the work to make that happen, and this is our last chance. Sign up for a volunteer shift near Kent on The Last Weekend here.

No matter what happens on Tuesday, I have faith in our communities and our movements — I know we'll keep fighting against violence, climate denial, and hate and for the just world we all deserve.

But right now, we have a real chance to take back power and make that fight a lot easier — so don't throw it away.

See you out there next weekend,

Jenny

PS: If knocking doors to talk to voters isn't in the cards for you, there's still a lot you can do to help in these last few crucial days: you can sign up here to make calls or text voters in key districts from the comfort of your home. And no matter what, don't forget to vote — text LOCATE to 83224 to find your polling place.
