Lorelei -- Last week, I was part of a group of current and former Amazon employees who submitted a shareholder resolution asking Amazon to share its plans for climate disruptions and reducing dependence on fossil fuels. You can read the New York Times article here. Will you support me and the other workers who are asking for Amazon's climate plan? Extreme weather events are already impacting Amazon's operations, workers, and customers — not to mention the rest of us. Yet coal still powers Amazon data centers, and diesel, gasoline, and jet fuel still power package delivery. Amazon has yet to show the world its plans for reducing this fossil fuel dependence. While Google and Apple have already achieved 100% renewable-powered data centers, Amazon has only made a vague promise that its cloud computing will be 100% renewable sometime "in the future." Walmart, Target, UPS and many other companies have all reported on their climate change plans. We want to see Amazon's climate plans now! Join us, and urge Amazon's Board to adopt our resolution and share its climate plans! Add your name to our list of community supporters, and help us use our positions as a force for good. Thank You, Emily Cunningham PS 350 Seattle still needs $3k in donations before December 31st in order to meet the full $20K match offered generously (and anonymously). Can you help support 350 Seattle's bold climate work? |
