Re: Crucial moment for King County

We're on the verge of a fossil fuel project ban - but we need your help

Lorelei,

A couple of weeks ago we wrote to let you know that King County is on the verge on passing a new #FossilFreeKC ordinance which would proactively prohibit all new major fossil fuel infrastructure like gas pipeline expansions and new oil terminals.

We're now just a few days away from the January 28th vote on this historic measure.

Can you help make sure it passes by calling King County Council and asking them to vote yes on the #FossilFreeKC ordinance?

This is a huge moment - if successful, the #FossilFreeKC ordinance will be one of the strongest local laws against fossil fuel threats in the country.

Because of that, you can bet that the fossil fuel industry is doing everything in its power to stop this ordinance. Which means now more than ever, we need your voice!

Call King County Council in support of the #FossilFreeKC ordinance.

Together, we can win a Fossil Free future.

Lorelei,

This month, King County has the chance to take a major step towards a Fossil Free world—but to do it, it's going to take all of us.

King County Councilmember Dave Upthegrove is about to introduce an ordinance prohibiting all new, major fossil fuel infrastructure projects like major pipeline expansions and new oil terminals. To ensure that it passes, we need to generate as many calls as possible to King County Council Members.

Can you take 1 minute to call King County Council Chair Rod Dembowski urging him to support the #FossilFreeKC ordinance?

By proactively prohibiting new fossil fuel infrastructure, we can keep our communities safe from toxic air, water and climate pollution, and ensure that King County is the next community along the West Coast to prohibit the expansion of dangerous fossil fuel infrastructure.

This initiative will protect our community and climate for generations to come. But we have to stay vigilant and make sure our Council Members understand just how badly the people want this. Every phone call makes a difference.

Can you take a few minutes today to call Council Chair Dembowski and ask him to vote yes on the #FossilFreeKC ordinance?

If the King County Council passes this ordinance, it will be one of the strongest pieces of anti-fossil fuel legislation ever passed in the United States. By leading the way, we can start a chain reaction of similar measures in cities and counties across the country and transition to the 100% renewable energy we need.

Can you help us by calling Council Chair Dembowski today?

In solidarity,

Alec Connon - 350 Seattle

P.S. Keep the momentum building - sign and share our petition to King County leaders calling for no new fossil fuel infrastructure!
