Bumping this up -> Re: Green New Deal: This is our moment

With your support, we can seize this opportunity.

Dear Lorelei,

I wanted to make sure you didn't miss this.

Since I wrote to you last week, our first wave of actions supporting the Green New Deal has begun and thousands of people have already joined us and partners in events around the country.

This is just the beginning, and we have plans for a sustained campaign pressuring Congress to act, but we can't keep up our efforts without every one of our supporters being part of this.

Will you make a gift of $5 right now to help us ratchet up the pressure for a Green New Deal and a 100% renewable energy future for all? There's still time, and any gift you can make now will help.

Thank you for demanding real solutions to the climate crisis.

Katie

This is our moment.

Yesterday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Ed Markey introduced the most ambitious climate resolution we've ever seen to push a Green New Deal forward in Congress -- and we need to act NOW to seize this opportunity for bold action that meets the scale of the climate crisis.

The Green New Deal would strike a major blow to the fossil fuel industry and create millions of jobs ensuring a just transition away from fossil fuels and toward the 100% renewable energy economy we need.

Lorelei, climate activists like you have been such a huge part of making this moment possible. Now, to ensure that we can sustain and escalate our all-out campaign to demand a bold Green New Deal, we need 300 people to donate by this Sunday. Will you make a gift of $5 right now to help us make it happen?

We know from experience that the fossil fuel industry will throw everything they have into defeating this resolution. And while we know the road to a Green New Deal will be a long one, this moment is where we demand our leaders pick a side. We need to put everything we have into the hundreds of actions planned around the country, keep tens of thousands of letters flowing into Congress, and light up the switchboards with our calls.

So we have to move fast. Please, help us prove that it's possible: make your gift today and demand real solutions to the climate crisis.

Thank you,

Katie
