Green 👏 New 👏 Deal 👏

News just broke that a Green New Deal bill is around the corner. This is real momentum — take action to keep it up.

This is huge, Lorelei: yesterday, news broke that Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Ed Markey are planning to release a Green New Deal bill as soon as next week.

A few months ago, hardly anyone outside of a few wonky policy circles had heard of a "Green New Deal." Now, it's one of the buzziest, most popular proposals in and outside of DC — and we're about to see real legislation to move it forward.

Make no mistake: that incredible shift is 100% thanks to the grassroots movement — people like you — who have pressured elected leaders to step up and show the real climate leadership we so urgently need. In other words: we're winning. And we can't stop now — which is why we're taking action next week.

We still have a long road ahead to pass the Green New Deal we're fighting for — a bold, necessary plan to create millions of good jobs building a just transition away from fossil fuels and toward the 100% renewable energy economy our communities and the climate need. That's especially true as long as Trump and his bigoted billionaire friends are still driving their fossil-fueled agenda.

And what our friends at Sunrise Movement said couldn't be more true: "Bills like these live or die in the first few weeks based on how much support they receive. It's on us to move this legislation forward by turning up the heat."
